What is Myofunctional Therapy?

"Think of it as having a personal trainer for the muscles of the mouth, face, and tongue."

-Jen she/her | Owner of MMFT

With Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, a patient can regain the joy of eating, speaking, breathing, and even sleeping more soundly. The cosmetic improvements with retraining your facial muscles can result in balancing the symmetry of your face. We believe that everyone deserves to be educated about myofunctional disorders and treated if they suffer from OMDs.

Orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT) is an individualized non-invasive exercise-based therapy program that rehabilitates and provides life-long habits for proper function. OMT involves neuromuscular reprogramming and forming habits for proper muscle balance, proper muscle strength, and proper muscle function.

By focusing on weak muscles of the mouth, face, and throat; improvements can be made with breathing, chewing, swallowing, speaking, and your overall health.

Hannah | age 23

I’ve just finished a year of therapy with Jen and my results are amazing.

My breathing and sleep have significantly improved. I have less jaw pain, and I can finally breath through my nose.

She’s a great teacher, and I’ve learned all the tools I need to go forward and continue my exercises on my own."

Don | age 66

"I am very pleased with the results. I had symptoms such as; bad posture, chronic neck & shoulder pain, clenching, and poor sleep.

Having my tongue-tie released & myofunctional therapy helped improve these symptoms. But I could not have imagined that my sleep apnea improved and is now mild. No CPAP for this guy.

With Jen’s guidance & exercises I was able to go way beyond what I expected to achieve."

Susan | age 63

Working with Jen has been a pleasure. I am a heavy tooth grinder and have suffered from jaw pain & tension. I wanted to try & save my teeth.

The exercises she prescribed helped me learn where my tongue was supposed to live & helped strengthen all the muscles; which helped me stop grinding. I was also surprised I was sleeping better & feeling less fatigue.

Everyone would benefit from myofunctional therapy.
